FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS GRAD PROGRAMS
Are you multi-talented with both creative and intellectual drive? Are you looking for a graduate program that speaks to your abilities and interests in different arts fields? Then graduate studies in fine and performing arts may be what you need. The category of fine and performing arts generally includes some or all of the following: film, theatre arts, visual arts, art history, media arts, music and creative writing. While you can pursue graduate studies in each of these fields at specialty schools, another option is to take your degree in a more unified School or College of Fine and Performing Arts. Universities with graduate programs in fine and performing arts will often group these disciplines--each usually within its own department--together in a single School or College. Students are therefore encouraged (sometimes required) to take courses across departments, which results in a broad, interdisciplinary approach to the arts. However, if you do want to develop your talents in a particular area, most Schools or Colleges of Fine and Performing Arts offer the option of taking a graduate degree focused on creative work (Master of Fine Arts degrees, for instance) or on more academic work (the thesis-based Master of Arts, for example). Which means that within each area, you can specialize further (in visual or studio art, for instance, this could include areas like ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, textile arts, graphic design, or a combination of the above). So whether it's a master's or doctoral degree in one of the arts or across the arts, Grad Source can help you find a dynamic graduate program in fine and performing arts so you can start creating you future today!
